PHARMACIST’S TIPS

Durbell Panorama

Nausea and Vomiting can lead to dehydration especially in young children. It can be very dangerous in children and the elderly and therefore it is very important to remain hydrated with fluids that contain electrolytes and, if possible, some glucose to provide the body with some much needed energy as it is often difficult to keep any food down.

Nasal irrigation with a combination of warm water and natural salt may help clear out mucus and open sinus passages. Take a natural antihistamine and an anti-inflammatory like Quercetin which is effective for naturally lowering the effects of season and food allergies, plus asthma and skin reactions.

First and foremost, if you have the stomach flu, your body needs rest in order to fight off the virus. You’ll need to get plenty of sleep and reduce the amount of activity you normally do during the day. Do not drink beverages with a lot of sugar in them, such as juices and sodas, rather opt for water, tea or hydration solution with electrolytes.
